Why There’s No Health in HealthCare

Did you know that a leading cause of death in the United States is medical treatment? How could that be? We debate over whether or not everyone should have access to our healthcare system, while the safest thing might be to stay away from it. Obviously, something is faulty in how we view health and what it takes to maintain it.

The problem begins with how we view our bodies and what makes for health. We begin with the assumption that our bodies are simply chemical systems. Our intervention then is in the form of chemical manipulation. From that point of view, whether it’s indigestion or depression, we operate as if illness is a “drug deficiency.” We deal with symptoms not causes—and, of course, this all makes a lot of money for those who deal the drugs.

So what other view is possible?

What if, as other medical systems around the world have known for centuries, the human body is an amazingly intelligent bio-energetic information system?

What does that mean for health and illness?

First, it means that chemical processes are secondary to what is happening in the bio-energetic information field of your body. It is the free flow of bio-energetic information in this field that initiates and guides the chemical processes. What is happening in this field also programs and activates the DNA in your cells. When there is disruption of this bio-energetic information flow, there is illness.

What is especially powerful about this realization is that it recognizes the tremendous self-healing ability of your body and the power you have to positively affect your health. Here are four things you can do right now to facilitate a healthy cellular environment and increase the smooth flow of bio-energy:

1. Exercise consistently doing some form of cardio exercise, strengthening, and stretching.

2. Eat a variety of fresh, whole, organic foods in as close to their natural state as possible. Foods in this form provide the bio-energetic structure and nutrients that your body thrives on.

3. Begin your day with some form of conscious relaxation, prayer, or meditation to bring your body and mind out of stress mode into calm, conscious, clarity and inner connection.

4. Throughout the day, practice thoughts and feelings of appreciation, gratitude, and trust. Appreciate and be grateful for the opportunities and gifts of each moment. Trust that you are always provided for and witness how this is indeed the case. One rule of consciousness is this: “You experience what you are looking for.”

Do these four things every day and you will revolutionize your health and well being and grow positive results in your life.

Enjoy your practice!

Kevin

A Surprising Remedy For Anxiety

What makes you most anxious—your finances, public speaking, expressing yourself in relationships, your health? We all have areas of life that put us on edge. There are many good strategies to use in those specific situations to handle how you feel. These include pre-planning, practice, and breaking these situations down into small doable actions that you can step into little by little.

Yet, what if your anxiety is more generalized? What if it comes up in many situations? In this article, we’ll explore a powerful practice that you might not associate with anxiety, but which can make a dramatic difference in how confident, relaxed, and empowered you feel in all situations in your life.

So, what is this surprising remedy and how does it work?

The answer is strength training. That’s right, strength training, as in lifting weight. Now, before you shake your head, let me explain.

When you practice strength training, your muscles begin to strengthen in the first few weeks and this increased strength makes you feel stronger emotionally as well. Strength training is also progressive. You get stronger and stronger the more you do it. You can very tangibly mark your progress as you are able to lift heavier weights and/or do more sets and repetitions. This is powerful positive reinforcement that makes you feel good about what you’re doing.

When you feel stronger, you feel more capable. In contrast, when you are anxious, you feel like you might not be up to the challenges you face. Feeling stronger gives you a generalized feeling of strength that translates into empowerment.

Strength training is also a routine that you can learn to rely on. It gives you predictable and repeatable results, which is emotionally satisfying and comforting. You feel more control in your life, when you know you can practice your routine and get reliable results. These results include not only changes in your muscle tone and strength, but also in your brain and body chemistry.

A good strength training workout releases endorphins which help you relax and feel positive. Strength training has also been shown to stimulate neuro-genesis in your brain—in other words, it promotes the production of new brain cells. These new brain cells expand the neural connections in your brain, which help you see new possibilities and learn new skills. For example, some of my best writing comes right after a good workout—and I often get some of my best inspirations and problem solutions during or after my physical training.

By focusing on feeling the muscles that you are working, strength training becomes a meditation. It trains your mind to focus, be present in your body, and let go of other distractions. This is a powerful skill that you can apply when you are feeling anxious. You can focus on being present in the actions you’re taking and watch your anxious feelings fade to the background. Have you noticed that once you’re involved in doing something you get in the flow and your anxiety dissolves?

Now, you might have an idea that strength training is for athletes or bodybuilders and that it takes hours and is very hard work. It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. You can get good results from doing a few exercises, for a few minutes, just a few times per week.

The key is to do exercises that involve your whole body and do the exercises to the point where you feel your muscles working and you feel yourself breathing deeply. This tells you that you’re putting some pressure on your muscles and bones, so they will respond by getting stronger. As you get stronger muscles and bones, you’ll not only be healthier and feel better, you’ll stand more upright and look better, too. This will give your confidence another boost.

Here are a couple simple exercises to get you started:

1. Squat down as deeply as you can, while keeping your feet flat on the ground and raising your arms up overhead. Do 1-3 sets, of 8-15 repetitions, 3 times per week. You can make this more challenging by holding hand weights.

2. Hold the top of a pushup position with your arms and body straight while raising one leg, then the other, a few inches off the ground. Do 1-3 sets, of 8-15 repetitions, with each leg, 3 times per week.

Once you get started and begin to feel stronger, you may want to learn more exercises and vary your routine. This will make things more interesting and be even more effective. Strength training is a great example of how you can use your body to shift how you think and feel.

One of my all-time favorite meditations

How would you like an easy technique that you can use anytime to release your stress, feel more joy and connect to your Inner Guidance?

You’re welcome :/ —> 🙂

I call this “Inner Smiling” and it is a very powerful way to connect to the healing power of your heart.

You can use the technique I’m about to show you to quickly reduce stress, improve your health and immune response, stay calm in the midst of chaos, and connect with inner clarity and intuitive guidance.

(“Inner Smiling” is actually a key part of Core Energy Meditation – a truly holistic meditation practice that balances your three major energy centers – mind, heart and body. Full details on that Program here.)

The basis of Inner Smiling is actively self-generating acceptance, gratitude, care, and trust. Here are some of the benefits of Inner Smiling.

It can lower your blood pressure, calm your nervous system, improve hormone balance, improve your brain function, and give a positive feeling of well-being.

These effects begin by bringing heart rhythms into balance. This facilitates coherent brainwaves and integrated whole brain function. Generating an inner smile also brings your parasympathetic nervous system online, which is your relaxation and recovery mode.

When your “relaxation response” is active, your levels of muscle tension decrease, your digestive system receives more blood for doing its job well, and your immune system gets the energy it needs to function at a peak level.

Your higher level brain functions also come online. This is in contrast to when you feel fear and stress, which actually shuts down your higher brain functions.

As your body relaxes, you decrease production of the stress hormone, cortisol, and increase production of DHEA, which regulates your body’s ability to heal and repair itself. Pretty exciting stuff!

Not to mention it feels pretty darn good too!

So, how do you practice Inner Smiling?

Here are four simple steps:

1. Close your eyes and take several slow deep breaths.

2. Imagine that you are breathing in and out through your heart to focus your attention there.

3. Smile into your heart with acceptance, appreciation, gratitude, and care.

4. Imagine and feel your Inner Smile expanding from your heart to infuse every cell in your body.

To help you generate Inner Smiling in your heart and your body as a whole, you can bring to mind someone whom you care for unconditionally, such as your parent, spouse, child, or pet. Or recall something that you love to do or someone who makes you smile.

Bring your appreciation for those people, pets, or events, into your heart and then send it outward into your whole body.

If you find this challenging at first, you might spend a little extra time focusing on breathing deeply in and out through your heart. Allow any feelings of tension or irritation to dissolve in your breath.

Then, imagine someone or something you effortlessly appreciate or simply accept yourself and whatever is happening unconditionally. Be grateful for “what is.”

Just putting a subtle smile on your lips may be enough to bring an Inner Smile into your body. Inner Smiling is a doorway to feeling your inner essence and transforming your life from the inside out.

Enjoy your practice!

Discover Your Confident Self! Mini Meditation

All of us have situations in our lives that challenge our confidence. Whether it’s giving a presentation at work, speaking honestly in a relationship, or going all-out for your goals, lack of self-confidence makes you shrink into far less than your true potential.

Fortunately, research shows that mentally rehearsing confident thoughts, feelings, and behaviors grows the mental-emotional circuits associated with confidence. This primes you to be confident in real life situations. Meditation is a great way to practice mental rehearsal.

You can use the following mini meditation before entering any situation that would usually challenge you or make you anxious or afraid. You can also use this meditation to grow a reliable baseline experience of complete confidence. We’ll practice increasing your confidence in three steps:

1. Shift into a relaxed, positive state.

2. Listen for inner guidance related to a low-confidence situation.

3. Mentally rehearse positive, confident thoughts, images, feelings, and actions related to a situation which normally challenges your confidence.

To prepare for this meditation, I’d like you to choose one low-confidence situation that you would like to shift. Call to mind the environment in which your confidence is challenged, any people involved, and how you normally feel at that moment.

Next, recall a time when you had high confidence. This can be any time that you’ve felt positive, happy, or empowered. Call to mind the environment, any people involved, and how you felt at that time.

If remembering a high-confidence moment is challenging for you, no worries. We’ll begin the meditation by generating relaxed, positive, empowered feelings in your body.

After you listen, please share with your family, friends, and co-workers through the social sharing links. I’d also love to hear your Comments below.
